I feel old....:(

I feel so old sometimes, i have rheumetoid juvenille arthritis in my fingers, knees, wrists, and more, and just out of the blue sometimes my right hip starts hurting really bad. I just feel so old sometimes this stuff should not be happening. Does anyone else have hip pain, if so what do you do to make it feel better?

My hips swell a lot depending on the weather- I have seen an arthritis specialist with no official diagnosis but that's besides the point. I walk- I make myself walk despite the pain and I do feel better the more active I am, but if you can't find a place that you can go swimming at that has a hot tub too and do 45 minutes in the pool and 15 in the hot tub, that helps me a lot too.

Have you done any kind of Physical Therapy or have you talked to your doctor about finding ways to help you cope with the amount of pain?

oh yea the gym i go to has a spa and pool but i am really self conscience about myself so i dont like to go there but when i get back to WA the apartment might have a pool and im alright with going swimming there. I havent talked to a doctor at all about it i know i should but i hate going to the doctors. more then half the time they dont even help me so i just gave up on all of them. I also forgot to mention i dont know if its a heart problem but when i am laying a certain way and i breathe in to hard my chest hurts, and its around the part where the heart would be but im not for sure it could be anything.

Could you maybe get work out dvds specifically for people who have issues with joints, I do know they exist or get some work out dvd's that may help you with your pain? Oh also! Take up yoga! You can usually get dvd starter kits at walmart and the like- comes with tape/ball/mat sort of deal. It can be really good for working out kinks.

Also, start walking a little, it doesn't have to be a big huge thing but make a goal once a day to walk a certain distance then keep adding to it as you build strength.

I feel you about doctors- I've had unexplained joint pain my entire life- and finally I found a doctor who listened to me and didn't blame my issues on weight gain. Have you thought about seeing a homeopathic doctor?

oh no i have never heard of that doctor, are they really good?

Well going to see a homeopathic doctor can help give you supplements that may help you in ways that medical doctors don't. I find that a lot of times medical doctors always want to push a pill on you for a quick fix without ever really going into depth about what may be causing something to occur and sometimes they just don't know.

Also, for me personally I know how I eat affects the way I feel so I try to stay away from things like pop/refined sugars etc.

Just don't leave it until it gets to the point where things get worse. and everything happens in baby steps

oh alright thanks for responding to my post it helped a lot, yea starting tomorrow im going on a serious diet and go to the gym more often. Hopefully that helps some.
