| Sorry I am jumping the gun and posting this a day early, but as I was thinking of veggie recipes, I had an A-Ha moment. A water chestnut is a vegetable. This recipe may not be the healthiest but it is a yummy appetizer! My mom as been making these for holiday appetizers for years!
(I do not use an exact recipe)
1 or 2 cans whole waterchestnuts soy sauce in ziploc bag brown sugar package of bacon (half a pack if you use one can waterchestnuts)
Drain waterchestnuts and marinate in soy sauce in fridge for an hour or so. Precook bacon in microwave...You want it semi-cooked, but not crispy. Pat each chestnut all over with brown sugar and the wrap in a piece of bacon (I cut bacon in half befoe I precook) Secure with toothpick. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25-35 minutes or until bacon reaches desired crispness. | |

| that sounds pretty good. Hope you will share a picture down the road. When you have made these do you did you everhave a problem getting people to try them? I think I would be afraid people wouldn't try them if I made them for a group of people. | |
